Today I took part in a 3km (1.8mile) run. The race is part of a series called 'Run for the Children'. All the money raised will go to a childrens charity. I met Granny Val and Michael at the race venue as Val was going to run with us. We collected our race numbers and then waited for the race to start.
The race was 2 laps, each lap was just under a mile long. The race started and I set off with Äiti and Val. We ran down a long hill and then round some trees. We then saw daddy and Michael cheering us on. Then some very fast runners came past us, they were finishing their race and we had another lap to go! Half way round the second lap I freaked out over some mushrooms growing near a tree, Äiti carried me for 100meters until the mushrooms were gone. We then carried on to the finish. At the finish I got a big cheer. I was given a medal and a bottle of water. I was so tired as I'd taken 40minutes to run my 3km. We then all went to a pub for lunch and I had chicken nuggests, chips and baked beans which were delicious! It was a very fun morning and I want to do another race soon.

Congratulations on your medal Sophie!!
Thanks for your comment :). The school is doing excatly as i'd hoped, 90% fun and 10% ability appropriate work. Kayne's behaviour is awful when he is bored.
I think i've seen that site before but i haven't posted. There is another forum here:

p.s. Sophie is beautiful too :)
I love reading about the run, especially that it was multi-generational. Plus of course you inspire me to attempt to do something similar with Amelia!
