My First Shoes

Theo:
Today I went to town with Mummy and Sophie. We had to go to 3 different shops to find some shoes that fitted my flipper feet. My feet measured in at a 2.5 I. H is very wide, I is paddle like; they don't even make I fittings. I had to go up a size to find some that fitted me. My new shoes are a 3H and they are rather nice considering I didn't get much choice in styles...no one makes square shoes!

I came away with a little photo of me getting my shoes.

I wore my new shoes outside tonight when I went for a walk with my walker, they seem to work quite well!

I had my 8 month check up earlier this week. I now weigh 19lbs 10oz, which is exactly on the 50th percentile line. I was told that I could now face forward in my car seat. Mummy asked why would I want to do that...and then gave a short lecture on the benefits of extended rear facing. I do believe she used the internal decapitation line! I'm doing everything I am meant to be doing at 8 months of age which is good.

My first triathlon

Sophie:
I took part in my first triathlon this weekend. I had to scoot 1/4 mile, then cycle and run the same distance. There were about 50 other 5 year olds in my race.

At the start, everyone went off very fast on their scooters. We then had to rack our scooters and find our bikes. I found it hard to spot my bike as there were so many lying on the floor. I cycled off as fast as I could. I then had to rack my bike and do my run section. I ran the whole way. When I crossed the finish line I was given a medal.

I was so pleased with myself. I would very much like to do another one so Mummy and Daddy will look out for another race for me.

Georgie the Geocaching Fairy

Here is a story that I wrote/dictated.

Georgie the Geocaching Fairy + Thea the Garmin Trex GPS Fairy

It was the Easter holidays and Kirsty and Rachel decided to go Geocaching. They asked their mummies if they could go and buy a Garmin Trex. They chose one that was pink with a fairy on the top.

Rachel and Kirsty wanted to go Geocaching. Their mummies drove them to the start of the cache and then went home. Rachel and Kirsty looked as hard as they could and found the first cache. It was hidden in the leaves under a bit of wood, the size was a micro. They couldn’t find the next cache. The co-ordinates for the third cache were N 20.6.987 W 04.4.296. , the cache was hidden in a hole in a log. When they opened it, inside was Georgie the Geocaching fairy. Georgie was wearing a pink t-shirt with short sleeves. She had shorts on which had pictures of the Trex on. She was also wearing wellies which were stripy.

Georige told the girls that the goblins are breaking all the satellites that are up in the sky. She asked them what the cache was called that she was hiding in. Rachel and Kirsty said this cache was called Rosie’s Chad Cache.

With the help of Georgie, the girls went to the fourth cache, they couldn’t find it even though it had an easy clue which was: Fairy Head Height. Eventually they said “where is it? We can’t find it”, by then their mummies had found them. “It can’t be time to go, we’ve only found two caches so far” said Rachel and Kirsty. They asked their mummies if they could find the fifth cache. Their mummies said yes, so then they found the fifth cache and inside was Thea, the GPS fairy.

They explained to Thea that the goblins were breaking the satellites. Then Thea said “I know, the goblins are trying to find my Trex which is hidden somewhere.” “What is the plan?” asked Rachel.

“We have to get to space to try and find the goblins and my Trex” said Thea, “because my Trex is still missing. Do you think the goblins have found it yet, Georgie?”

“Definitely not! We need to find the goblins and the Trex, don’t we?” said Georgie.

“Ok, let’s go!” said everyone.

Rachel and Kirsty turned themselves into fairies by getting a pinch of fairy dust and sprinkling it on their heads. Then they flew up into space and tried to find the goblins. The goblins were on a planet called Jupiter which was very far away from where they were looking...which was on Pluto. The goblins were jumping on the satellites around Jupiter. There was plastic and metal all over the surface of the planet.

The girls then distracted the goblins and then Georgie magiced them off to FairyLand. The girls and Georgie mended the satellites with a bit of fairy dust. They found Thea’s Trex which was hidden under a bit of plastic.

They all flew back to FairyLand and told the goblins off and sent them back to Jack Frost’s ice castle.

Rachel and Kirsty then found a Travel Bug in a cache called ‘Fairy Kingdom’. The Travel Bug had a fairy on it, it just wants to travel to lots of different caches. The girls went back to the real world and placed the Travel Bug in Rosie’s Chad Cache.

Georgie and Thea remained in FairyLand. The satellites all worked properly now. All the GPSs started working because the satellites were working again.

On the move

Theo:
I don't seem to stop moving at the moment! All day long I am rolling, crawling, shuffling, climbing, standing, walking and anything else that allows me to move! At night time, I am waking myself up as I am rolling and crawling around my cot. My sleep is not so good at the moment as I keep banging into the sides of my bed.
