A few updates

Sophie:
I am really enjoying school at the moment. I love getting the bus everyday with my friends. I am doing very well in Class 2- my teacher there is very pleased with me. This week, I spent half the morning in Class 2 working with the Year 2s (P3 for my relatives in Scotland), but from next week I will be there all morning doing Numeracy, Literacy and Phonics. In the afternoons I go back to my Reception class.

Swimming is going well as is Gymnastics. I'd quite like to do Ballet again, I really enjoyed it at my old school but Äiti thinks 3 clubs in one week is quite a bit. We'll see!

I got weighed and measured at my new school- I am short (25th percentile) and skinny (9th percentile)!

Today I went to my friend's party. We had a brilliant time and I got to see all my friends from my old school. I was so happy to see G again.

Theo:
I had 3 injections this week. I cried a little bit. I also got weighed this week- I am still on the 50th line, so completely average. I weighed in at just over 15lbs. I am still sick all the time but this should clear up once I start solids in about 8 weeks time.

I am going to a music class now with my friend F, I love going. I get to 'sing', shake some maracas and stomp lots. I also go to a weekly playgroup where I see all my little friends.

Matching!

Sophie:
I love Theo very much. I have been wanting to wear matching clothes for some time but because I wear age 3-4yrs and Theo wears 6-9mths, we've never found anything that matched in the right sizes- until we discovered ebay!

Then I let him play with it. Then he smiles at me for helping!

Hello, I'm Percy

My name (for the moment) is Percy. I am 12 years old. Six weeks ago I was found wandering the streets, I was taken to the cat rescue centre. At the weeken I was adopted by Sophie and Theo. I moved into my new home today!

Some funnies

At the dinosaur museum, Äiti and I played with the toy stuffed dinos. Äiti picked up a Stegasaurus and made snapping movements at me whilst saying "I'm going to eat you".
I turned round, gave Äiti an 'oh mother' look and said "how can you chase me and want to eat me if you are a herbivore"

"How do stegosaurus' mate when they have all those bony plates on their back and spiked tails?"

"Do you know why I can't eat chips in the car...they make me feel chipsy!"

Ä: Is that L's car that has just sped past us?
Me: No, her number plate ends in LPV
Ä: Er, perhaps, I'll ask her!
Äiti checked. It does end on LPV, I was right!

A deep GMA thought..
"What is bigger, my head or the cat flap hole?"
"why don't you try it" said Äiti
"ok, I'll stick my head through the catflap and see if it fits"

Äiti said "How did I get such gorgeous kiddies?"
I said "you got pregnant!"

An interview about school

Sophie:
Here is an interview about my new school...

Tell me about your morning today:
You took me to S school and I waited with my friends for the blue bus. I got on the blue bus with Emily- I pushed Emily out the way so I could sit by the window. Then we went up the hill to C school. I got off the bus and went into my classroom and sat on the carpet.

What did you do at school today?
We did PE. I got into my PE kit and we did lots of different exercises in the hall. I was super good at balancing.

How was lunch?
I had fish fingers, they weren't orange like my old school, theses were golden yellow. I also had chips and peas and carrots. I ate most of it. I had a spongy thing for pudding, but I didn't like it so had an apple.

Did you do any reading?
No, but I did yesterday.

Did you put your hand up in class?
I didn't yesterday which is why you have banned Facebook, but today I did AND I answered some questions- can I have Facebook back now?

No. What are your favourite activities?
I like the creative corner. I made a food trough.

Why?
Because I wanted to be a dinosaur eating my ferns, I'm a baby diplodocus you know!

What else do you like?
The writing corner...I drew pictures with Emily. I liked building an igloo yesterday out of ice.

Which school do you prefer, this one or your old one?
This one. It has a bigger classroom with lots and lots of things to do. There are toilets in the classroom just over there (gestures randomly). I have learnt some things in just the first 2 days but I can't remember what. Emily is in my class but I really miss G as I love her very much. I also get to go on the bus and sit with my friends.

Do you like your new teacher?
Yes and my other teacher.

How many children are in your class?
7, but sometimes 8, but H only comes in the morning. There are 6 girls and 1 or 2 boys because H comes in the morning.

Are you enjoying your new school?
Yes.

Sleepover time!

Sophie:
Aiti and I went for a sleepover at my friend's house. I had a great time. We played lots, danced lots, did some science experiments, played in the snow, found a secret den in the garden, listened to stories, read together and had lots of fun! Thank you for having me!

Snow Snow Snow!

Sophie:
I woke up this morning and it had snowed! There was about 20cm on the ground.
I quickly got dressed and we headed out with Daddy. Daddy pulled me on my sledge and Äiti had Theo in his baby sledge. Theo fell asleep within minutes so didn't get to go very fast or be whizzed about!
I made a snow-volcano and I turned into the lava spurting out. Later on, in the afternoon, we went out again. I made a snow-man in the garden. I had a great deal of fun just rolling round in the snow. Thankfully, all my Finnish winter gear still fits so I was lovely and warm.

Theo:
White things fell out the sky and made everything look very strange- I was confused!

Happy New Year

Sophie:
One night, I went to bed and it was 2009. When I woke up the next day it was 2010!

Just after New Year we drove a very long way up to see daddy's sister. We stayed at Cathryn and Noel's new house which was very nice.

I had great fun playing on their Wii and have now decided that I'd like a Wii and a huge, massive television for my birthday!

One day we went to a museum dedicated to children's books. There was an exhibition about Judith Kerr, she wrote all the Mog Cat books and other classics like The Tiger Who Came to Tea. I loved looking round this exhibition and museum. I found out how books are written, got to read about the real Mog, dressed up as a cat and did lots of other interactive things with the books.

We also went to the beach and went bowling. It was my first time bowling and I really enjoyed it. I lobbed the ball down the lane and managed to score 75 points! Thankfully I had the bumpers up which prevented me from scoring 0!

We then drove for 8 hours to get home.
