So, that was some of my year. It was a bit limited in holidays and camping trips as Äiti was pregnant. After Theo was born she couldn't drive for 6 weeks so we didn't really go anywhere.

I will end the year at 31/32lbs, just over a meter tall (39ins), size 9 feet, age 3-4 clothes, a reading and spelling age over 3 times my real age and a maths ability many years ahead of my age!

In 2010 I will start at my new school. I will have to make lots of new friends there seeing as my old friends will all start at different schools to me.

Happy Christmas!

Sophie:
Thank you for all my dinosaur presents! Äiti and Daddy got me a big dinosaur box that unfolds to reveal a jurassic scene. My new dinosaurs love playing on it. I also got dinosaur clothes, dinosaur jigsaws, books, dvds, games and art things. We went to Val and Michael's for Christmas day. They gave me a dinosaur excavation set-I had to dig a brachiosaurus skeleton out of the rock, then build it.

Theo:
Thank you for my presents! Äiti and Daddy got me some wooden blocks and a dinosaur t-shirt. I also got a lovely new red jacket from Val- she made it for me! I got a push a long walker, some clothes and a door bouncer. I seemed to really like all my presents.
Here is a video of me sitting unaided playing with one of my new toys and bouncing in my door bouncer.

3 months old!

Theo:
I am now 3 months old. I weigh 13lbs 14oz which is a drop down to the 50% line. I am a very happy, laid back chappy!

I am still very chatty, I love to laugh a lot, I smile whenever Sophie comes near me and suprisingly, I am very social. I was trying to make eye contact with some ladies on the bus the other day, if they didn't look I 'shouted', then smiled at them!

I am sleeping so well right now. I get put in my cot at 7.15pm, I chat to my toys for 15mins and then fall asleep. I wake up once in the night, it can be anytime between 2 and 6am for a quick feed, then I go back to sleep until we all get up- yesterday was 8.45am!

My favourite activity has to be bath time. A daily bath with Sophie is something I love. I lounge in my chair making more splash than Sophie. We 'play' together- Sophie has invented a game called 'kick your sister', we both laugh very hard during this time. I do enjoy swimming too which is good seeing as we go weekly!

I am beginning to take an interest in toys. I have a soft activity cube that I like to touch and hold. I quite like books too, so I am read to daily by Sophie or Mummy.

A trip to London

Sophie:
I had a great day out yesterday. I went on the train to London to see the dinosaurs. I've been to the Natural History Museum before but have never wanted to look at the dinos. This time though, I was so excited. We met Val there, she hadn't been to see the dinos in a long time! The first dino I saw was Dippy the Diplodocus, he was sooooo long. I then saw Opthalmasaurus, he was just as I imagined. We then went to the dino exhibit where I saw my other favourites. I got to touch Pachycephalosaurus' skull and boney plate, I touched Iguanadon's thumb claw, I felt stomach stones, got scared by a huge T-rex and felt sad that there was no Liopleurodon to see. I loved seeing Triceratops and Edmontosaurus. I had so much fun.
After the museum we got the bus to Piccadilly Circus. I sat at the front of the bus so I could see all the Christmas lights. Harrods was covered in green lights! We then went for dinner at the Wong Kei. I had crispy aromatic duck with pancakes, it was very good! We then walked up Regent Street looking at the street lights and the window displays. We then got the tube and the train home.

Theo:
Sophie made me wear a dinosaur sweatshirt. I slept most of the time!

My little school has closed

Sophie:
On Friday I went to my school for the last time.

On Wednesday, Äiti and Daddy got a letter from the company that owns my school. The letter stated that my school will be closing very shortly and we all have to find new places to go. The teachers were all told on Monday night that they would have to go to new schools too. Äiti was so so sad, the school has been there for years. Some of the teachers have been teaching there for 25 years and my dinner lady has served dinners for 26 years.
I am really going to miss all my friends but I hope I'll keep in contact with some.

In January I am going to a new school. I am looking forward to it, Äiti is a bit nervous about it, but I'm sure it'll be fine.

It was only 3 weeks ago that we all got brand new school uniforms- I am really going to miss wearing a tie and my purple jumper.

Sick!

Sophie:
I am not very well. I have spent all day being sick; it hasn't been nice.

Last week I had my Nativity play- I was Mary. I didn't have any lines to say but I had to sing lots of songs. I quite enjoyed myself. Everyone laughed when I kissed the donkey (I wasn't meant to) and when I dropped baby Jesus on his head!

I had a sleepover with Amelia this weekend. Äiti and Daddy also had a sleepover with Amelia's mums. I think we all had a good weekend. I also went to a birthday party with my school friends and had gymnastics!

Äiti's camera is broken right now and her laptop is being silly, so there aren't any photos of me and Theo right now.

Theo:
I like having baths! I like kicking Sophie and I like her trying to splash me. We laugh a lot together in the bath. I can now roll from my back to my tummy...I then get stuck and need Mummy to turn me back. I am now going into my cot at 7.15pm, I then take myself off to sleep without any help. I am not sleeping through the night yet, but Mummy and Daddy are just so pleased that they have an evening back.

The Cat Show

Sophie:
Äiti took Theo and I to the National Cat Show. I went last year and had a great time so I thought we should go again this year. I decided that I was going to go dressed as a cat and that Theo should be one too! When we got to the show we met Val and then we went to see the cats. I got asked if I wanted to be on a TV programme called Blue Peter, but I looked terrified and said no. Everyone thought I was 'best in show' and looked cute dressed as a cat! I spoke to lots of the cats in the show, I even got to stroke a lot of them. I had a great time and will be going back next year.

Maths maths maths!

Sophie:
I really like maths at the moment. I like to do maths at breakfast, in the car and in bed! Here is a short video of me doing maths on my own, plus a short clip of me doing maths with Theo.

My new haircut

Sophie:
I've had my haircut professionally for the first time ever! My hair was getting very long and tangly and I was getting crossin the morning when I needed my hair brushed. In previous times, Äiti has put me in a t-shirt with horizontal stripes, she has then used the stripes as a level and hacked across. This time though, Äiti thought it would be a good idea to get it cut properly. I quite enjoyed having it cut and I'm really pleased with the results.

Boxes of fun!

Sophie:
There is nothing better than a large cardboard box!

Bits and pieces

Theo:
In the past week I've been to the clinic 3 times; once for the Doctor to do my routine 8wk check up, once for the nurse to jab me and once to see the Health Visitor. I slept through my jabs, but the following day I wasn't overly happy. I had a weigh in with the HV. I now weigh 13lbs2oz which is about the 65th percentile. I am, however, on the 98% line for my length! I am easily wearing 3-6mth clothing now as I am so long!
I got to try out Sophie's TrippTrapp highchair the other day. I really liked it. It'll be a while before I get to eat anything though.
I really really love Sophie. I save my biggest smiles for her. She likes to show me lots of things and she makes sure I have lots of toys.

My first play!

Sophie:
I'm not going to win an Oscar for playwriting or acting but here is my first play! I wrote it for my class- they have two speaking parts each. On the way to school I decided I was going to write a play about dinosaurs. I was going to order the speaking parts in a repeating pattern so that my friends knew when to speak. I was also going to give my friends who are learning to read shorter lines so that they could read them. When I got home from school I sat down and wrote my play. I took it to school this morning, I want my teacher to photocopy it so that everyone can take home their words to learn and then we can do the play in assembly!

2 months old!

Theo:
Today I am two months old! I don't really do much except sleep and eat and babble a bit. I do like going swimming, but that makes me sleep for hours after. I like playing on my mat but again I need to sleep after.
I sleep rather well at night. I only wake once for a feed, then I have to be woken at 7am because we all have to be up then to take Sophie to school. I'm ready for bed at 7pm, but asleep by about 8.30pm. Now that I'm being swaddled, I fall asleep really easily.
I am 'talking' a lot and smiling. I am quite strong, I do like to stand and bounce.
My doctor said I was of 'substantial substance' at my 8week check up!

Here is a video of me at 2months old...

Swim swim swim

Theo:
I went swimming again and loved it! I floated, kicked, splashed and jumped. Then I slept for hours!

Sophie:
It has been a busy weekend. I woke up on Saturday morning to find Daddy home. He had been in Germany all last week. We'd had a good week and managed very well. We were early to school every day and in bed by 7pm each night!
After finding that Daddy was home, we went to gymnastics, then to the supermarket, then to ToysR Us. I had demanded a new work book with a dinosaur on it, I settled for one with a shark on instead. It is very easy and I only have about 5 pages left in it to do! We spent the afternoon just playing at home.
Today I met with Amelia and Oliver and we went swimming. Daddy took Amelia and me on the waterslide which we both loved. We then went to a pub for lunch. I shared a roast dinner with the others, then I gave Amelia a spelling test! She then gave me words to spell in return. This evening we went round the village putting leaflets through every house telling people that Marmalade was missing and had they seen him.

Some funnies

Sophie:
"Äiti, what will my coprolite look like in a million years?"

Me: Why are you still pregnant when Theo is here?
Ä: I'm not pregnant..and I don't think I will be pregnant again
Me: So why is your tummy still sooooooo FAT
Ä: All my skin got stretched when Theo was inside me, it takes a while to shrink again
Me: Well, you still look pregnant!

Me: Oh wow, look...Theo is blinking
Ä: er yes
Me: He is sooooo clever!

Me: Look, Theo stuck his tongue out when I stuck mine out
Ä: yes, newborns like to copy your facial expressions
Me: He is sooooooo clever!

Me: awake, asleep, awake, asleep, awake, asleep, awake, asleep
Ä: I think you'll find he is blinking
Me: awake, asleep, awake, asleep, awake, asleep
Ä: Sophie, Theo is blinking!

"I like being busy just like you daddy. You like being busy in your office and I like being busy at school. Äiti likes being busy surfing the internet, she is always busy on Facebook, the forum, photobucket, blogger and that september one."

My first swim

Theo:
At the weekend I went swimming for the first time...I loved it!
When we got to the pool Mummy realised that the swim nappies she'd bought me were a little small so she put a cloth nappy wrap over the top. I went into the pool with Sophie who was very excited about taking me swimming. I had a go in my floating chair which was fun. Sophie pushed me round and round. Then I got out of my chair and daddy held me. I did some jumping and then some floating on my back. After 20minutes I got out as it wasn't very warm. I protested very loudly about getting out!
Here are some recent photos of me:

Pretend play with Excel!

Sophie:
Today I combined pretend play with Excel spreadsheets! I was busy playing with a set of weighing scales, a ruler, my toy dinosaurs and my laptop. I was also on Wikipedia looking up some dinosaurs names.
This was my excel spreadsheet than I made this afternoon... as you can see, I weighed my dinosaurs, measured them and gave them a name.

After dinner I decided to make another chart about slugs. I kept running back and forth to the catflap to look for slugs. I then put my data into this chart. I explained each slug to daddy when I'd finished.

Question: How strong am I?

Theo:
Answer: very strong!

OK, so I only sat like this for a second or two, but it was fun!
