Some funnies...

At dinner
Me- I think I'm going to eat 81 pieces of pasta
Aiti- 81? Really? How did you come up with that number?
Me- Well.... 8 x 10 +1 or 10 x 8 + 1 or 9 x 10 - 10 + 1 or 8 x 10 + 5 - 4 or even just 9 x 9
Aiti- er yes, best start eating right away then!

Every day we drive past a house being built. Today the water people were there putting the house onto the mains. Aiti explained to me about how the house needed the pipes for the water to go in and out.
My comment "if the house filled up with 110% of water, then slowly it would become an aquarium"

At dinner-
"Daddy, I love you"
"likewise" said daddy
"well I love you 100% daddy"
"well I love you 110%"
"well I love you 2,000,478%... I win, my number was bigger than yours"

I got home from school to find Aiti had tidied my bedroom
Me- I don't love you any more, Äiti I'm not loving you again until the end of September
Aiti- I see you've noticed your room is clean
Me- I didn't want a clean room, I liked having a messy room, never clean it again

At my swimming lesson
Teacher- ok, Sophie, let's see some froggy legs
Me- - I can't do it
T- Why not?
Me- Because I'm not a frog!

"See Äiti, I do have a slave, an expensive one called daddy"

"I'm going to be very busy sorting out my colours so I need one of my slaves to get me some paper...daddy is busy, so Äiti, you need to go" I was surprised when Aiti didn't get me the paper!

"Aiti and I have an umbilical cord joined to us where our love goes"

"I was just determined to buy something in that shop"...this was afer I bought my Spork!

Guess what I am saying!

I went to a fairly new park today with Val and Äiti where there was a water fountain pool. It was very cold but a lot of fun. I got to have a large ice-cream afterwards but I was so cold I couldn't eat it!

Some more biking

Tonight we all went to the Common/Woodland for a bike ride. The weather was so hot and sunny so we took a picnic as well. This time I only rode 5 laps or 5 miles as it was getting late and I have school tomorrow. I love riding through the woodland, I keep looking out for animals but so far I have only seen imaginary ones!
Here is a short (20second) video of me and daddy riding.

This week the weather has been fantastic. I have spent all afternoon running round the garden completely naked...just like old times! I've been playing with my 'dog' called Woofy. Woofy is really a bright orange space hopper but I'm training him to do tricks like sit, stay, come and roll over! I have a lead (my skipping rope) that I use, sometimes Woofy has a wee against the washing (laundry) line! It is very funny! Today I got the hose out and groomed Woofy, then Äiti sprayed me with water which I loved.

6 miles!

6 miles...that is how far I rode on my bike today! Äiti and I took our bikes in the car up to a local common/woodland. There was a one mile paved circuit that allowed bikes. We rode our bikes through the woods and past horses. It was lovely, so lovely in fact that I insisted on doing the circuit 6 times! Äiti was rather tired looking by the end!
This week has been half term. After Wales, I had a swim lesson which was fun. I also had 2 play-dates with my friends from my old school. On Friday I announced we should go shopping as there were a few things I needed. I got a new pair of Crocs, some summer PJs, new goggles that don't leak and a new Nintendo DS game called Tigerz. We met Daddy for lunch at a cafe, it was a bit like the cafe in The Tiger Who Came To Tea! Here are my new goggles...

On Saturday we went to Vals and I had a great time. I rode my bike lots, played on the swings, ran round the garden, played with the dog and just enjoyed myself. I build a few Lego models by following the instructions.
This morning we went swimming where I had hopping races with Daddy. After lunch we took back my new Crocs as the strap had broken already. I got new ones. I then went cycling with Äiti. After a long bath Äiti cut a few inches off my hair. I have been complaining of it hurting when brushed so Äiti chopped it...apparently it looks quite straight!

A recent reading video

Here is a video of me reading a lovely book called 'My Dad's a Birdman' by David Almond. I still mumble a bit and read too fast in places, but I am using lots of expression and intonation now.
...put bread in the toaster, set the table with two plates, two mugs, two knives, milk and butter and jam, then she went to the foot of the stairs. “dad” she shouted “daddy”. No answer.
“dad, time to get up” No answer. “If you don’t get up now, I’ll come up there and ... (dot dot dot)” She stepped heavily onto the first step, then onto the second step. “I’m on my way” she shouted. She heard a grunt and a groan, then nothing. “I’ll count to five. One...two...two and a half...daddy!” There was a muffled shout from upstairs.
There was a crash and another groan, then there he was, in a scruffy dressing gown and holey slippers and his hair all wild and his face all hairy. “Downstairs now” said Lizzie. He stumbled down. “and don’t look at me like that”. “no Lizzie”. She tugged the dressing gown straight on his shoulders.

I climbed a mountain!

We had a public holiday here in the UK so we made the most of it and went to Wales. We were meant to go at Easter but I had the Chicken Pox and then my contamination illness so this was our best opportunity. We headed to the southern part of Snowdonia to a place where Äiti used to spend her Easter breaks with her parents. After 5 hours of driving (awful traffic), we found a campsite that boasted "a shower block"! We pitched our tent surrounded by mountains and streams.

On the Saturday we headed to the 'Centre for Alternative Technology'- http://www.cat.org.uk/ It is basically a fully working, living exhibition of alternative technologies. Daddy fell in love with straw bale houses and I fell in love with a SPORK...that will get its own post!

We then stopped by a craft village which I really enjoyed. I even went in a small playground by myself whilst Daddy and Äiti had cake and coffee! After a BBQ, I rode round the campsite on my bike, charged round the tent with a washing up brush and did maths

On the Sunday, the weather was good enough to carry out my wish of climbing a mountain. We headed to a place called Dolgogh Falls with fantastic scenery and waterfalls plus the ever so important mountain! I set off like a mountain goat whilst Äiti waddled behind me. The Spork came too! It was quite a tricky climb in some places but I scrambled up. We had a picnic lunch by a stream which I promptly fell in, I didn't mind as it meant I could get naked and prance about! We then started our descent led by me the mountain goat. We had ice cream at the bottom. We then spent the rest of the afternoon recovering whilst I, the mountain goat rode my bike, did more maths and did 'spork' stuff.

On Monday (after 11 hours sleep) we headed off to the Tal-y-llyn railway- Wales' oldest, restored steam railway line. We took the train to a place called Abergynolwyn where we had a lovely pub lunch...I didn't eat it though!

Photobucket
We took the train back to the car and then proceeded to sit in traffic for the next 6 hours to get home! It was an excellent weekend. I had a lot of fun as I love being outdoors and being in a tent. We'll go back again for sure!

14 years!

14 years, that is how long Äiti and Daddy have been together!

They remembered yesterday that it was their anniversary!

I had a fun day. I went to school with some more worksheets for my teachers to complete...they forgot though! I played horses with my friends which was a lot of fun, I prefer playing dogs though. After eating nearly all my lunch, Äiti picked me up and we went to buy a map of the mountains in Wales, it looks a good map with lots of long, strange names on it.
At home I decided that I wanted to go bike riding so I scooted to the park whilst Äiti wheeled by bike...she was a bit tired when we got there! I rode both my bike and scooter on the basketball court and then I had a play on the equipment. Back at home I played shops with Aiti, then I read my school books and did my homework. Then daddy came home and we all went out for dinner. We went to the local pub where I ordered sausages, beans and chips. I did not stop talking through the whole of dinner time. I then fed the ducks in the stream behind the pub with some bread, I saw a trout in the stream as well as some ducks. It was then bedtime, Daddy and I read a book together.
Here is the worksheet I made for one of my teachers.

What a busy weekend!

My busy weekend started on Friday afternoon with a trip to the theatre to see 'The tiger who came to tea' and then dinner out.

On Saturday I met up with Kayne and Sylvie. We met in McDonalds and then we all went to an indoor play centre. We had a lot of fun running round, climbing on everything and going down the big slides. I now don't have the need for Aiti or Daddy to be with me all the time- I have grown in confidence!

In the evening we went to see some friends who have just had a little baby. She was a tiny baby and very cute. I gave her some books and a little jacket. Daddy and Äiti's other friends were there too so everyone had a lot to catch up on, I had to go to bed though!

Today I took part in a local Fun Run. I took part in the Pre-Schoolers race and then Daddy ran in the big 5 mile run. I was as fast as a cheetah in my race and came 2nd! I got a medal which I want to take to school on Monday. Whilst Daddy was running I went on the bouncy castle, rolled down hills and ran around looking silly!

I then had an hour long bath where I wore my goggles and went diving. I got out when I couldn't stand the lukewarm water! I then spent some time eating tortillas whilst playing on my computer!

The Tiger Who Came to Tea- LIVE!

Today I went to see The Tiger Who Came To Tea at the theatre. It was absolutely brilliant. I took along my 3 stuffed tigers so that they could watch and join in.
We got to sit in the third row which gave us a great view. Before the show started, the actors came round to chat to the audience. There are only 3 people in the book- Sophie, her mum and dad...oh and a huge tiger! Big Sophie came and talked to me! Äiti introduced us by saying "Sophie meet Sophie" and we had a little chat.
Then the show started. I was so excited when the tiger rang the door bell, he was a great tiger. I liked it when he drank all of daddy's beer, just like in the book, and then burped loudly...just like my daddy! My tigers joined in the songs and danced a bit. I just had so much fun. As the actors took their final bow, I cried as it was all over. I gave the show 1264% and I want to see it again as it was excellent.

Some pictures from after the show.

I can ride my bike!

I can now ride my bike without stabilisers or training wheels!

Äiti and Daddy took my training wheels off a few weeks ago and I had one go before I got ill. I didn't ride my bike for 2 weeks because I was too ill. Yesterday we went to the park for another attempt, I did really well on the grass. Today though, I had a go on the concrete basketball court and I thought I was quite excellent!

Here is a video of my bike riding progress. There is a short video of me on my scooter at the end too.

Swim Fishy Swim

It is very hard to get a video or photo of me swimming, there are lots of rules in the UK that don't allow video recording equipment anywhere near the pool. This weekend our funny little campsite had a super warm, super small pool so Aiti took advantage of it being private and video'd me. Here I am doing some swimming.

On another swim note...I got my Level 3 Award today! My swim teacher says I am swimming really well and she is so pleased with me. I'm quite pleased with myself too!

On a non-swimming note, I seem to be doing double digit addition in my head now! I can do simple sums like 46+33 or 64+25 in my head now. I put the numbers on top of each other in my head and just add the units and then the tens, this gives me the answer!

My Weekend

This weekend we went camping. We had intended to go on Friday night but I had another ear infection and so was on antibiotics and not feeling overly well. We left Saturday morning though and headed up to the Midlands to where Sylvie lives. It was Sylvie's birthday party so I went to that. I had a lot of fun bouncing on the bouncy castle and playing with Sylvie. I ate quite a bit of food and really enjoyed myself.

We then went to our campsite which Aiti and Daddy named as the 'oddest campsite in the world'. We camped in a field but everything else was very odd! It was wet, cold and windy but we had a lot of fun. I think Aiti and Daddy enjoyed the people watching! On the Sunday we went to Twycross zoo which was good but not the best zoo I have been too. I was quite intrigued by the Bonobo monkeys and their 'bits'!

On the Monday we packed the tent away and drove to Daddy's triathlon race site. It was so cold that the triathlon got changed into a run-bike-run, which made it a bit harder for Daddy. We watched a few of the laps of the bike and run but it was just freezing. I ran the last 100 meters with Daddy though just to help him finish.

A month of illness

What a month it has been!

Just before Easter I got Chicken Pox. We had to stay in the house for 6 days as I was contagious- it took a long time for my spots to scab over. We missed going camping in Wales as I couldn't give the Pox to anyone.

A week later, I went swimming and got a nasty bug. A child had done a poo in the water just near where I was swimming and diving. Aiti thinks I may have swallowed some of the water and this made me ill as by Wednesday I was getting hot and tired. The next 4 days were horrid, I had a temperature of 103, an eye infection, a sore ear and an upset tummy. I missed lots of school. I went back to school a week later having lost loads of weight.

On Thursday, I came home from school screaming in agony as my ear was so sore. I slept on the sofa and then daddy took me to the doctors. The doctor looked in my ears and said I had an ear infection. I got some yukky tasting yellow medicine which is meant to make me better, it just makes me gag. Yet again, we were meant to be away this weekend, but we have postponed it. I am feeling better now though.

I need to put on some weight as I am now 27lbs which isn't helping my immune system.

I'm going to be a big sister!

In September I am going to be a big sister! I have known for quite a while now, but after the 20week scan, I am starting to get even more excited.

Since last September, I have called the new baby 'Tabby', but now I have decided that that is too much of a cat name, so the baby is now called 'Barracuda Stone-Fish'. I have bought Barracuda Stone-Fish a few little presents already and tomorrow I want to go to Mothercare to buy more things. Aiti bought some new cloth nappies (diapers) today so I think I should buy something as well!

Here is a little picture of my new baby...

Some art and writing

I drew a snail today on MS Paint!

I wrote this short story the other day when Aiti was wallowing in the bath.

The house of ill

I am ill again! I went back to school on Monday and went to gymnastics feeling fine. On Tuesday I had school and swimming, but swimming only lasted 5 minutes as some child had poo'd in the water and we all had to get out. I started riding my bike without stabilisers that evening and then went to school the next day covered in bruises! I was very tired on Wednesday, had a very gungy eye and was a bit hot. By Thursday morning I was roasting and feeling very ill. I missed school on Thursday and Friday which was a shame, I just lay on the sofa watching cbeebies and playing on my laptop. Saturday was much the same, I felt very hot and had an ear ache. By the evening I'd picked up a stomach bug which was not too nice. I felt a bit better this morning so we all went to Borders for a coffee and some cake. I couldn't manage my cake and just wanted to go home. I'm not going to school tomorrow either as I still have a upset tummy.

In the last 5 days I haven't eaten anything, my eye has been producing green stuff but it is now better, my ear hurt but that is now better and I am still hot. My temperature today was 102 degrees which is much better than it was.

My summer uniform

My summer uniform is so much better than my old school's uniform. I have to wear a pale blue and white striped dress with a blue cardigan, white socks with blue trim and a straw boater hat!

Our first camping trip of the year

We were meant to go camping last weekend but I had the chicken pox so was too contagious to be taken anywhere. We decided to go camping this weekend instead so we headed off on Friday night to Somerset. We stayed in a campsite in a place called Cheddar which is famous for it's gorge. After 10 hours of sleep we had a great breakfast of fried eggs in baps! I had a play in the play area whilst daddy went for a run, then I had to show daddy my new favourite thing...a zip wire!
We then headed off to a cider farm for lunch and cider...though only for daddy. The food was excellent and daddy said the cider was scrummy, so he bought some more from the farm shop. We then went to the sea side where I played on the sand and ate ice-cream. We had fish and chips for tea to round off a good day.
After another 10 hours of sleep I went on the zip wire again, then we put the tent down and decided what to do. I wanted to see Cheddar Gorge and the caves but it would have cost £35 to visit so we decided to save our money for when we had more time. I really enjoyed riding my bike at the campsite, looking at the camp fish and running round the empty pitches. I'm looking forward to more camping in a few weeks time.
Here is a video of me loving the zip wire...
