Caterpillar's 2nd birthday!

Today I woke up and declared it Caterpillar's 2nd birthday! It was a great day!

I dressed him a pair of jeans...which later turned into a pupa. When we went to Tescos I picked up some wrapping paper and ingredients to make some cupcakes. When we got home I wrapped up some of my toys for him, I made a card, made the cupcakes, arranged a tea party for him and had lots of fun! After he had eaten his cake I took caterpillar outside wrapped in his cocoon to eat some more leaves. I think caterpillar had a great day. When he is 4 he is going to change into a butterfly!

Here are some pictures of Caterpillar's birthday.... getting ready to be a pupa, eating his cake, having his candles, eating leaves outside wrapped in his cocoon!

What else have I been up to? On Thursday Val came over and we went to the Rainforest. It was Val's first time there so I showed her around. We had a great time looking at all the plants. On Saturday Sarah and Pip and their dog Ripley came over for the evening. We all went for a walk with the dog, then I read some books to Sarah. I then had to go to bed. As far as I can tell the grown ups had a great time. Daddy even got out his Guitar Hero stuff and they all played ROCK! It was fun to see them both again.

A few photos, some art and some more fairy stuff!

I've had a very good day today. This morning Emily and I went to a local farm, it wasn't a great farm but we both quite enjoyed it! We then went to Borders where I got a new fairy book (Louise the Lily Fairy) and Emily got a 'Little Miss Stubborn' book. We then both went to Tescos for lunch where I told Emily that I loved her. In Tescos I picked out some seeds to plant in the garden. When we got home I planted the seeds with Aiti.

I then went on a fairy hunt in the garden and found lots of daisies and dandelions. I picked quite a few and then decided to make a picture based on 'Danielle the Daisy Fairy'. I decided to draw Saffron the Yellow Fairy instead, she is playing hide and seek with Danielle...you can't see Danielle as she is hiding! The sparkles in the top corner of my picture is magic fairy dust.
I then made quite a few similar pictures! After that, Äiti hid some large petals in the garden and I went on a fairy adventure trying to rescue the petals. This was so much fun that I invited daddy to play, he had to find the petals that I had hidden.
I then read a few books, played on the Nintendo DS, refused to eat my dinner and went to bed very early to read.
Here are a few more pictures of Emily and myself today...plus one of me playing on my lovely new laptop...thank you daddy!

My First Fancy Dress Party...and other bits

Today it was my friend Emily's birthday party. It was a fancy dress party. I have never dressed up as anything in my life because I've never wanted to, but I thought I should make an effort for Emily. I went as a Fairy as I love the fairy books I'm reading!

Äiti took me into town to chose a costume to wear, I also got shoes and a wand! I wore my costume for the party and then took it off the moment I got home! I doubt I'll wear it again!

It was a fun party with lots of other children all dressed up. I sat next to Emily at lunch which was fun.

This week I went to Val's house. She took me to BirdWorld with Michael and Uncle Sam. It was really good but my eyes (now much better) were hurting a lot so we didn't stay too long. I'd really like to go again though.

I also went to London on Friday to see Andrea and Tyan. I really really liked Tyan, she is nearly 7yrs old now! We went on a bendy bus which was a lot of fun! To get to Andrea's house we had to drive to the station, go on a train, then 2 underground trains and then walk a bit. I was very tired when I got home.

Lego building and some funnies!

I am really enjoying building with Daddy's old lego...it is very old- at least 35yrs old! I made an airplane- the wheels are not wheels- they are the jets under the wings. The bit on top is not a helicopter rotor but another jet to make the plane go faster. The sloping windows at the front were a bit of a fluke, I found the pieces like that! The second picture is me building LegoLand.

Äiti told me to eat up my apple today as the vitamin C is good for making my eyes better, I replied "can't I have some vitamin ocean instead?"

I spotted 'The Bear Hotel' today in town, I asked Äiti what might be in there, she told me it is where the bears go to sleep. My reply "Bears don't sleep in hotels, they sleep in caves".

One more- I wanted to play on the Rainbow Magic

website today. Äiti said I'd have to wait until the laptop had started. I corrected her by saying "it needs to start up, not start". Äiti called me a know-all!

I had to go to the doctors today, I have conjunctivitis. I have some antibiotic cream to use if it hasn't cleared by itself in a few days. I woke up this morning with so much gunge in my eyes that I couldn't open them.

Fairy drawings!

Here is a picture I drew today of some of the fairies in my books. I drew Fern first, I drew her wings wrongly though. I then added Amber and Sky. The lines in the sky is the magic fairy dust. Sky and Amber are holding hands and Fern is holding her wand.
As you can see, I am a little fairy crazed at the moment! I am going to Emily's party this weekend, it is a fancy dress party so I am going as a fairy! I found a wand today in Tescos which I have waved all day!

Äiti and I finished Saffron the Yellow Fairy today. We started Hayley the Rain Fairy tonight at bedtime. I have also played on the fairy website and made lots of my own fairy books!
I had a good day today, I spent most of my day immersed in pretend play...mainly fairy based! I did a few jigsaws including my 100pc fish one, played with my Lego and I went looking for fairies again in the garden with my wand. I even ate all my dinner tonight which was gnocchi and corn on the cob...I was the sweetcorn eating fairy!

An exciting few days!

I have had an exciting few days! On Thursday I went to LegoLand in Windsor and had a brilliant time. I went with some of the other children from my Internet birth club. I was tall enough to go on all the small roller-coasters so went on them many, many times. I loved going fast and speeding round the rides. On some of the rides I put my hands in the air and screamed 'more more more'! I was old enough to go to the driving school and had fun trying to drive. I kept crashing but had a lot of fun. The merry-go-round at the end was quite boring, I kept asking äiti when it was going to get faster! I want to go back in a few weeks time to ride the roller-coasters again!

This weekend we thought we'd go camping and have a picnic. We packed the car and headed off to the Cotswolds where we pitched the tent. We had a BBQ and picnic which ended up being eaten in the car as it started to rain. I fell asleep by 8.30pm and woke 12 hours later to SNOW!!! I was lovely and toasty in my sleeping bag even though daddy and äiti weren't! We ate breakfast in the car, then packed up the tent and drove home...I had so much fun! I took all my Fairy books with me as I can't leave home without them!

I am loving my Rainbow Fairy books, I have now read 11 of them...52 to go! I have even discovered the Rainbow Magic website where I can build my own fairy, play games and meet the fairies! Here is a photo of me in bed with, as I call them, "my beloved books".

The Rainbow Magic Fairy books

I have entered a fairy stage. My new favourite books are the Rainbow Magic Fairy series. I love them! I have spent the afternoon running round the garden wearing nothing but a pair of socks and a blanket looking for the missing fairies. I found quite a few- the Bamboo Fairy, the Leaf Fairy, the Stick Fairy etc. I called myself 'Sophie the nabadaba fairy'.

The books are excellent. There are 63 in the series. Each book has several chapters in with a few pictures. The main characters are called Kirsty and Rachel, they have to find the missing fairies and stay away from the goblins. They are very exciting books. Äiti tends to read them to me but I have begun to read a few pages when I feel like it. I often correct Äiti when she reads a word wrongly. I read some in my head when I am in bed. I have about 25 of the books as Äiti found a great deal on the first 21 books.

Some snippets of me!

Here is a video of me being daft! At the very end I sing a story I wrote- you will need the story to understand me!

Catswell is my favourite place. But there is a big scary wobbegong there. I don’t love to play with him. One day I got eaten by a big scary wobbegong there. Then they just cut a hole and I came out and I ran to Paintswell and said “he’s after me” I did a big painting and looked for a big toy......Paint the floor with paper....um...you can match the curtain pieces and do some jigsaws, that’s what you can do....lots of cats and a big scary wobbegong...yes, well........Lemurs don’t have bodies....they move by just leaning their legs.
Here is the story I sing. I dictated it to äiti.

Here are two stories that I wrote on the laptop. I have a few pseudonyms that I like to use!

Quick translation- Nadada is a catolan. Nadada had a sore arm. His aiti came and said what is the matter. My arm is sore said nadada. they went in the car and played funny games. Nadadas arm fell on to the floor. Dababadaba said Nadada. And then he said I want puma. His puma was left at home. he was cross. They took the arm home and threw it in the bin.

Tiger Iger and Marma went to Catswell. They saw a big scary mouth. The hole in the mouth got closer and closer and it went snap. The walked to the car and they went home. Their friend came and they played sad. They has sore eyes and were not well so went to bed. The end by Signa

Chit chat

In the car today...
Me- äiti, what is your favourite species of shark?
Ä- um....hmmm, I'm not sure I have a favourite, maybe a reef shark
Me- I prefer hammerhead sharks, they have a hammer head...(laughs at the thought). I loooooove hammerhead sharks, lots of sharks are dangerous but my hammerhead isn't
Ä- I think hammerheads are dangerous
Me- some are but not my little Hammerheady (my toy hammerhead). I like basking sharks too, they have wide open mouths like this (proceeds to open mouth VERY wide).
Me- what is you favourite species of otter?
Ä- Um...are there different ones?
I then launched into otter talk, a banner fish comparison and some ray facts!

In the car to Äiti..."I'm colouring an octopus at school, when I bring it home I don't want you to say 'wow, what a lovely octopus' I want you to say 'wow, what a wonderful octopus, that is impressive'......please don't shout at my octopus as it will be sleeping in my bed"

Daddy- Sophie can you just have a small nibble on your sweetcorn
Me- I am NOT a rabbit

A conversation with my Opa (Äiti's daddy)
O- What is your favourite breed of cat?
Me- Hmmm, welll.....(procrastinates for an age)...hmmm, a 'C' cat
O- A what?
Me- A 'C' cat
O- What is a 'C' cat?
Me- No Opa, I want you to ask 'What is similar to a 'C' Cat?'
Opa asks
Me- A 'T' cat!
I am soooo funny!
Dadddeeeee, be happy with me"
I'djust wiped my beetroot stained mouth on his sleeve...he was not impressed!
Here is a picture I drew yesterday. It is Marmalade jumping. You can see his sharp claws. He is standing next to the bamboo plant. A panda is on top of the bamboo plant eating some leaves.

My new camera and some milestone videos

For my birthday I received a FisherPrice camera from my cousins Gregor and Siena. I took my camera to the aquarium and took some pictures. Here they are....

Every year Äiti puts my latest milestones into a montage- here is my last year in pictures (it isn't too long)! If you want to watch my first 2 years I have added them also.

Enjoy!

Lots of story writing

I am going through a phase of writing stories. I love to use the laptop to write my stories on. I have several different ways of writing a story. Sometimes I write it all myself, sometimes I like to sit on Äiti's lap and write and other times I get Äiti to type what I am saying. I spell out every word to her- it can take quite a while to write a story this way! Sometimes I get a little annoyed when I can't think how to spell a word so Äiti helps me out occasionally by saying the word slowly or by just writing it for me! I also love changing the fonts...as you'll see!
Story 1. Äiti wrote 'Here is a story about catswell' and spelt out 'Turkish' for me. The story- All the cats are fun to play with. I took Turkish Van (a breed of cat) to Catswell (imaginary world) to sea all the cats. He was sad. the big scary mouth ate him. He said "mmmmmm, nice tasty cat".

Story 2- To sore paw Bouncy. Bouncy had a sore paw. he sat on a chair for a long time. He wanted a piccy of his sore toe. A big tiger ate him. He was all better. He had a sore ear. It was not all better. he went to bed. When he woke up he was all better".

Story 3- This was written sitting on aiti's knee, typed by me though. Story- "To Mog. Mog is stuck up there for a long time. His poo is stuck up there for a long long long long time. Mog is fun to play with. I pick Mog up gently. He said prrrrrr. Mog had a cuppa (English slang for cuppa tea). He fell off his chair and hurt him self"

Story 4- I dictated this to Äiti, I spelt out every word, if Äiti wrote the word incorrectly I would correct her. This isn't a story but a song so you must sing it! I also wrote it under my pseudonym of ' Ceta Cheetah' who is 4 years old! It says "All the fish were going into the octopus cave. They did not want to touch him. The went on the ray and they got off and said 'balalalal etc'. All the fish were starting to cry. They swam so fast that the tails bang the coral and the cats."

Some great photos of Amelia and I. I was being an Anglerfish and Amelia was being silly!

My trip to Seattle

I am now home after being away in Seattle. I had an excellent time there, we did so much and saw so much. I made loads of new friends, had a great birthday party and saw loads.

Daddy really enjoyed his Microsoft conference (the main reason for going) and Äiti enjoyed meeting up with all her virtual friends, she has 'known' the other mums for about 2years now from an internet board she posts on.

Here are all my friends at the party. One of Äiti's friends organised the whole Cat/Fish themed party. The whole house looked great, there were fish hanging from the ceiling, fish on the windows, cat puzzles, cat books, fish and cat cakes etc. We played games, ate yummy food, did some art and jumped on the couch! I slept very well that night!

As a group we also all went to the Aquarium, it was a great aquarium...so great that I went back later in the week! We also went to Seattle zoo where I saw gorillas, orang-utans, leopards, jaguars and many other animals. I got to visit the library in Seattle too, it was an impressive building with a huge range of kids books. I enjoyed sharing a book with Amelia and Cecily. I also went to several bookshops where I read hundreds of books.

I went with Lorena and her mummy to the Science Center. Lorena and I had fun in the butterfly display. We both also loved the dinosaurs.
On the weekend we went with Amelia and her family to Canada...my 17th country! Äiti drove us all over in a huge mini-van, we had to get two ferries to get to Victoria BC. We visited another aquarium that was on a boat, it was a little odd but I saw some fantastic starfish and octopus. I had a great night with Amelia and Oliver whilst Äiti, Daddy, Lorraine and Mary stayed up late!
Here is slide show of my holiday and birthday....
